Top Five Reasons to Use Live Stream for Business

I stream live video for fun, and it has opened numerous doors for me! I have met people and made lasting friendships with all types of interesting people from all around the world. I have learned a lot about life, business, and mostly myself in the past ten years since I started blogging. Here are some things I have learned about social media engagement through live stream platforms such as Periscope, Snapchat, Livestream on Facebook,, as well as any others you may be using:

1. Live Streaming Increases the Know-Like-Trust Factor

Livestreaming works because it increases the Know-Like-Trust Factor and gives you a stage to share your personal story. If you have a small business, or hobby/interest and want to meet like –minded people who have similar tastes, or who are willing to buy in to what you are selling, live streaming can be (almost) free advertising for you. A few minutes a day can make the difference between you and the next person doing whatever it is you are doing. The best part is, the medium is re-usable and can be re-purposed to work for you in a multitude of ways. (Even if it “goes away” or expires after an hour or a day – you can still capture it and it will always be yours to use.)

2. Live Streaming Utilizes Your Valuable Time Sensibly

Blending daily life with business is a way to utilize your valuable time and show your best self. You are tweeting anyways, right? If you are already Snapping on Snapchat or posting on Facebook or Instagram, then you have time to do live streaming. There are no excuses. If you can make a phone call, or send a text, you can do this. It doesn’t take that much time to learn or to use. Of course, you can hire a VA or a Social Media Manager to handle this for you – but ultimately, your customers want to see you. If you are sensible with managing your time, you can make it work for you. Do what feels comfortable for you. Make it fit in your schedule and do it on your own timetable. There is no right or wrong way. There is no magic formula. This is a new way of doing business for a lot of people. This is your chance to lead the way!

3. Livestreaming and sharing on social media builds relationships.

Every relationship counts! This is like Sales & Marketing 101. But live streaming in your PJs and slippers is lots more fun! Making the most of each experience and having fun is the best way to build a business, support a family, and to be happy. Be yourself, be kind, have fun. If you put good things out there, good things will come back to you. You never know, the next person you send a virtual smile or hug to can be the next customer, friend, or angel that you needed to meet! Make connections, offer to introduce people and help other people every chance you get. You will be remembered for the kindness you extended. Online relationships are real relationships with real people. Live streaming allows you to see that person, to see their expression, get instant reactions, read their body language, and understand what they want. No commercial or paid advertising can do that. Live streaming and building an audience or following, is building real relationships. In person connections and hand-shaking still has it’s value, I know. Online engagement can’t completely take the place of that, but it does allow you to be in more places and more time zones than physically possible.

4. Live Streaming Delivers a Consistent Message

Learn to deliver a consistent message while making it fresh, exciting, and new. Be creative and energetic! It is true you have to keep it up and repeat, repeat, repeat your mission and your message. There will be new people watching all the time as you grow your following. Don’t gloss over it or just say the same thing over and over. Think of new ways to demonstrate how awesome you are! Now is the time to stand on your soap box. Make a splash. Be seen and heard. If you don’t know how, ask for help, take a class or workshop, emulate other people. Ask your kids to show you what they like. Inspiration comes from all directions if you are open to it!

5. Anyone Can Be Successful on Live Stream and Social Media Platforms

It is not important to be a celebrity, have “star status” or have a huge social media following in order to be successful on live stream and social media platforms.  Engagement defines success for yourself and/or your business when it comes to live streaming, Are you meeting new people and introducing them to your brand? Are you following up on leads and making conversions? If you answered YES, then you are doing your job and live streaming will work for you.
